Traffic Backs Up Following Mudslide On Hwy 101 In Marin County

The mudslide was reported in the Sausalito area.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Lanes on southbound Highway 101 in the Sausalito area are cleared and reopened this morning following a mudslide and a possibly unstable tree, but traffic is backed up for miles, according to new reports.

The affected stretch is near Spencer Avenue with traffic jams extending to Tamalpais Drive, KCBS Radio reported on Twitter.

The incident, first reported about 6 a.m., initially closed one lane near Spencer, then two as Caltrans responded. As of approximately 8:45 a.m., all lanes were reopened, the station said.
