Vegetation Fire Breaks Out Near Mill Valley Trail: FD

MILL VALLEY, CA — Firefighters were responding Thursday afternoon to a vegetation fire near Wolf Ridge Trail in the Mill Valley area, according to Marin County fire officials.

As of 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, crews had stopped forward progress, officials said.

The Tennessee Fire was first reported around 12:30 p.m., with smoke visible on a camera overlooking the area.

At 1:14 p.m. the Mill Valley Police Department sent out an alert that stated:

"Drift smoke from a fire in the Marin Headlands is carrying into Mill Valley. There is no current threat to Mill Valley. Please do not call 911, unless you are reporting an emergency. This message will only be updated if conditions change, or action is necessary."

As of 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, the fire had burned about 3 acres and was spreading at a slow to moderate rate downhill toward the valley, officials said.
