The California Warriors were able to get back in the win column with a 5-1 victory over the Alameda Black Sox. Pitching and defense were once again the key to victory.
Offensively the Warriors got it going early paced by a 3 run 1st inning which featured RBI singles from Steven Nagy and Allan Kunst. After tacking on another run in the 2nd inning the Warriors pitching staff took over limiting the Black Sox to 5 hits.
“Throwing strikes is the key,” remarked pitching coach Brian Diemer. “These guys have done a good job of getting ahead and forcing contact.”
