The Warriors snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a 9-8 victory in the bottom of the 9th against the San Mateo Rounders.
Brooks Leandro-Farr celebrated his recent birthday by going 3-for-4 with a home run, double, and a walk. His double in the bottom of the 9th knocked in a run and put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and the Warriors trailing by two. After a strikeout, Aaron Knapp came up with two outs and got an infield single that drove in 2 and tied the ball game. With Anthony Firenzi at-bat, Knapp advanced to scoring position on a balk. Firenzi then hit a bloop single to center field that scored Knapp and sent everybody home with a smile.
The Warriors have two days off, and return to action at Marin Catholic Saturday with a doubleheader on Saturday against Team APS, with game 1 starting at 11:00 followed. Sunday the Warriors will faceoff against the Sacramento M’s in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
