Welcome To 'Traffic Jam,' ... Err, Tamalpais Valley
A muddled message greeted motorists entering Highway 1 in Marin last weekend.
Marin County, CA — "Welcome to Traffic Jam Valley."
That was the message that greeted motorists last weekend on Highway 1 as they headed into Tam Valley, just west of the 101.
Although the sign was restored Sunday afternoon to its customary "Welcome to Tamalpais Valley" message, the pranksters who used a banner affixed with bungee cords to temporarily switch out the wording warned in jest that it may happen again, according to Marinij.com.

Local resident Fabrice Florin came clean as one of the pranksters when he posted a video of the switcheroo on Vimeo, where he wrote:
"This one-minute video documents an art project about traffic jams in Tamalpais Valley ... I think it's a fun call to action to address the growing traffic issues in Tam Valley — and beyond. How could we solve this type of urban congestion, as a society? Walk more, drive less?"
