Whiz Kid of the Week: Hart Fogel
Seventh grader's boundless energy has him involved in a wide array of activities at school, from student council and the newspaper to robotics and the jazz band.

Accomplishment: At a school loaded with a wide array of extracurricular activities, Fogel seems to be involved in most of them. A student council representative and editor of the school newspaper, Fogel is also involved with Mathletes, the Eco-Club, the Robotics team, the Dodgeball squad and he’s a talented trombone player in the middle school’s jazz band, performing shows both at school and elsewhere.
He also plays soccer, basketball, baseball and runs track. Fogel is also a volunteer on the Marin Youth Court and has trained to be one of the lawyers in the program. Does Hart Fogel sleep?

“Hart is the first person I think of when I need a volunteer for anything and I know that I can always count on him,” says school counselor Randi Josephson.
Key to Awesomeness: Josephson says Fogel simply puts 100 percent of himself into everything he does. “And it comes straight from the hart – pardon the pun,” she wrote in an email. “It also helps that he is very intelligent and a curious person by nature.”
