Wildfire Smoke Triggers Air Quality Advisory In Bay Area

BAY AREA, CA – The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality advisory for today and Thursday because smoke from wildfires in southern Oregon is expected to drift into the region and cause hazy skies.

The air district is not forecasting the air quality to exceed federal health standards, so a Spare the Air alert is not being issued.

Anyone who smells smoke as a result of the wildfires is advised to protect their health by staying inside if possible with windows and doors closed.

People should also set air conditioning and car vent systems to re-circulate so outside air doesn't move inside, air district officials said.
