Wind Advisory Issued: Hang Onto Your Hats!

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of the San Francisco Bay area until 9 p.m. today.
The advisory is in effect for areas including San Francisco, the Coastal North Bay, the Peninsula Coast, the East Bay Hills, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Northern Monterey Bay and the Santa Lucia Mountains.
The National Weather Service is reporting northwesterly winds today of 20 to 35 mph and gusts that could reach 45 mph.

The strongest winds will be along the coast, around the San Francisco Bay and at higher elevations.
There is a possibility of downed trees and downed power lines due to strong winds.

Drivers, especially those driving high profile vehicles, should be aware of potential wind gusts that could make driving more difficult. The National Weather Service issues a Wind Advisory when winds of 35 mph or greater are expected.
