Wind Advisory Issued For San Francisco Bay Area

The advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. to noon Thursday for the entire region.

BAY AREA, CA – Strong winds are forecast in the region, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area, including the North Bay. The advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. to noon Thursday for the entire region.

Winds from the south are expected to be between 15 to 30 miles per hour on Thursday, with local gusts over 45 miles per hour, according to the NWS. The highest winds will be at higher elevations, especially ridge tops, weather service officials said.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," weather officials said. "Use extra caution."
