Winners of Mill Valley Outdoor Artwork Contest Announced
"The concept evokes the enthusiasm of our many local bicyclists, young and old," according to the Mill Valley Arts Commission.

MILL VALLEY, CA — An awards ceremony and exhibit reveal for Mill Valley Arts Commission's second reCYCLE Outdoor Art contest was held Tuesday at Friends Field at Mill Valley Community Center.
The artwork resulting from the contest — the second one this year — will remain on display throughout the month of August at Friends Field, where it can be found along the fence line parallel to the regional multi-purpose trail.
The outdoor kinetic artwork was inspired by a display of artist-embellished bicycle wheels in Seattle, according to a news release. The Commission gathered bicycle wheels that were headed for scrap metal bins from local bike shops, then opened the contest to local residents.
