Using mindfulness perspectives, guided meditation and creative visualization to soften and open the heart, and specific writing prompts designed to access creativity, we will tap into the inner voice to release what we can leave behind, open to what’s waiting to emerge and find new directions in the writing journey and the journey of life. This class is suitable for writers of all levels, journal writers, and other travelers on the path of self-discovery.

Catherine Flaxman, MA, MFT, is a writer and screenwriter, who has sold screenplays (including a feature-length project to Paramount) and received two Individual Artist’s Grants from the Marin Arts Council (for fiction and for screenwriting). A licensed psychotherapist with forty years experience in integrative psychology, Catherine is in private practice in Mill Valley. She is a lifelong meditator, has been a guest teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and conducts a weekly mindfulness-based meditation group on Tuesday nights in Mill Valley. A regular presenter at O’Hanlon, she enjoys creating and facilitating writing workshops that combine her skills in the creative, contemplative and expressive arts.
