Cops Seek Witnesses To Pedestrian Death On Fremont Boulevard
The motorist was arrested for suspected DUI.

A car driven by a suspected drunk driver fatally struck a pedestrian Monday night in Fremont, a police spokeswoman said. At 8:48 p.m., police received a call reporting a collision involving a pedestrian in front of the Brookvale Shopping Center located at 35754 Fremont Blvd., according to Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.
Officers arrived and learned a Chrysler Sebring driven by a 33-year-old Union City man struck a 35-year-old female pedestrian, Bosques said. Officers determined the pedestrian was walking outside of the crosswalk at Fremont Boulevard and Nicolet Avenue, according to Bosques.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers determined the male driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, Bosque said. His name was not immediately released.
