Exploring Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge at Milpitas Library

FREE multi-media tour of this largely unknown gem.

The nation’s first urban national wildlife refuge sits at the southern end of San Francisco Bay in the heart of California’s high-tech industry. The Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge (DENWR) is the West Coast’s largest wetlands restoration project in U.S. history, and a 30,000-acre oasis for millions of migratory birds and endangered species.

Sloughkeepers President Eric Norris will give us a multi-media tour through this largely unknown gem of the South Bay, showing how you can explore this area by kayak, foot, or bicycle.
