Fatal, Morning Crash Reported In Nearby Sunnyvale

The stretch of Evelyn Avenue, closed during the investigation, reopened Tuesday morning, police said.

SUNNYVALE, CA – A roadway in Sunnyvale has reopened after a fatal crash involving a vehicle hitting a pole this morning, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.

The department issued an advisory shortly before 8 a.m. about the crash, which caused all eastbound lanes of Evelyn Avenue to be closed at Pastoria Avenue.

The department sent out an update shortly before 10:50 a.m. saying the roadway had reopened.

Capt. Shawn Ahearn said no other details about the crash were immediately available.

A fatal vehicle crash has been reported in Sunnyvale this morning, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.

The department issued an advisory shortly before 8 a.m. about the fatal crash into a pole, which has caused all eastbound lanes of Evelyn Avenue to be closed at Pastoria Avenue.

The westbound lanes of Evelyn Avenue are open but the eastbound ones will remain shut down for several hours, public safety officials said.

No other details about the crash were immediately available.
