Mandala Children's House Honors First Recipient of Spirit of Mandala Award

Mandala Children’s House presented Mike and Kathi Endris with the inaugural “Spirit of Mandala — Endris Award” at this year’s ceremony for the Graduating Pre-Kindergarten Class of 2015 held in San Jose, California on June 4, 2015.

The school established the “Spirit of Mandala — Endris Award” to recognize a family or person who embodies the spirit of Mandala Children’s House and the ideals captured by its founders (“Nurture the child. Support the family. Nourish the staff.”) in their service to the school in extraordinary ways. “The award carries the Endris name for Mike and Kathi Endris, who as alumni parents and grandparents have been extremely generous financially and supportive to our mission and philosophy,” stated Anne Kangas, Director of Family Services, “and we are thrilled to have them as the first honoree of this annual award.”

Mike and Kathi Endris are long time East San Jose residents. “We are honored!” says Kathi Endris. “We’re more than happy to support Mandala Children’s House,” explains Mike Endris, “because we have first hand experience with Mandala being the parents of an alumni and grandparents of two and a third in the future. They have been a very important child development and educational institution for forty years.”
