Merryhill Preschool in San Jose Donates to Local Nonprofits
Merryhill Preschool students donated gently used baby supplies and shoes to Loved Twice and Step 30
Students at Merryhill Preschool in San Jose recently donated six large bags full of baby supplies to Loved Twice, a nonprofit that provides gently used item to babies in need. Students also collected 150 pairs of shoes for Step 30, which provides gently worn shoes to children internationally. At the close of the drive, students helped load the baby supplies into vehicles for delivery to the organization, and counted the shoes in preparation for their delivery to Step 30. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping other children.
Loved Twice is a nonprofit organization that clothes newborns in need with recycled baby clothing. The organization was founded in 2005 to help infant victims of Hurricane Katrina and has clothed more than 4,500 babies with more than 45,000 pounds of essential garments. Donated items are distributed through social workers in hospitals, shelters and clinics. Step 30 provides reused shoes to provide protection for those without shoes in many countries in East Africa.
