Milpitas Police Arrest Alleged Car Thief
An officer patrolling in the early morning hours spotted the suspect.
Police on Friday arrested a man in Milpitas in connection with a car theft and for possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Thounghone Vongdeng, 34, of Stockton, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance.
On Friday at 5:14 a.m., an officer was patrolling the Milpitas Inn at 66 S. Main St. when he noticed a car in the parking lot with a man inside. The officer did a license plate check on the vehicle and discovered the car was stolen, police said.

Other officers responded to the scene, and Vongdeng was taken into custody without incident.
Vongdeng was also in possession of approximately 1.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine and several shaved car keys, police said.
