Milpitas Police Arrest Pair in Stolen Car
An officer spotted the pair sitting inside a vehicle at a motel.

Milpitas Police arrested two people Sunday night after an officer noticed a suspicious car parked at a Milpitas hotel parking lot and discovered the vehicle had been stolen.
The officer was patrolling the parking lot of the Executive Inn, located at 95 Dempsey Road, around 11 p.m., according to police. The officer noticed two people sitting inside a 1995 Nissan Quest minivan, parked inside the parking lot, police said.
The officer decided to run the license plate number through the state database and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Hollister, in San Benito County, according to police.

The officer contacted the two people inside the vehicle and arrested them on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, police said.
Police identified the pair as Hollister residents Juan Cabrera, 29, and Jessica Valdez-Ramirez, 26.

When officers searched inside the vehicle, officers found the ignition and the steering column had been damaged, according to police.
Cabrera and Valdez-Ramirez have been booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, police said.
