Milpitas Teen Recovering From Brutal Valley Fair Beating

Three weeks after the unprovoked attack, the boy is out of a coma.

A Milpitas teen who was attacked as he left Westfield Valley Fair mall on Mar. 11 is out of a coma, but likely faces months of rehabilitation.

Christian Rasner,17, was at the mall with two friends when two men yelled at them, asking what gang they were in. As they left the mall, they were confronted by the men. When Rasner responded that he was not in a gang, he was attacked. He suffered head trauma and internal bleeding that required emergency surgery.

A suspect has been arrested.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up by a neighbor to help pay medical expenses.

Christian’s father, Greg Rasner, told the San Jose Mercury News, ”His progress is remarkable but we have a few more days or weeks before we know what’s in store for his recovery. Likely months of rehab at an in-patient facility will be required.”
