Milpitas Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests For Heroin and Stolen Pistol

All three of the suspects were from out-of-state.

Three Arizona residents were arrested in Milpitas Tuesday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of heroin and a stolen gun in their vehicle, police said.

Lloyd Lee Cracraft, 34, and Javier Palacios, 26, were arrested on suspicion of transportation and possession of heroin for sale, being convicted felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of stolen property and being under the influence of a controlled substance, and Elisabeth Contreras, 18, was arrested on suspicion of transportation and possession of heroin for sale, possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle and possession of stolen property, police said.

On Tuesday at 2:44 a.m., a Milpitas police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 black Cadillac CTS for a vehicle code violation. The driver, later identified as Cracraft, had a suspended license in Arizona, police said. Cracraft and a passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Palacios, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

During the course of the investigation, officers discovered approximately two ounces of heroin, a stolen unloaded Glock 9mm pistol and two loaded pistol magazines in the vehicle, police said. The heroin had a street value of approximately $4,200. A second passenger, identified as Contreras was also taken into custody during the stop.
