
A San Jose man was arrested Tuesday in Milpitas’ first homicide this year, police said today.
Kevin Van Nguyen, 26, is suspected of murdering a 20-year-old Milpitas woman in a home in the 500 block of Manzano Street, police Sgt. John Torrez said.
Police have not released the victim’s name as of late this morning.

Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive adult shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Torrez said. Arriving officers found the woman dead from multiple stab wounds and called for detectives, who were able to identify Nguyen as the suspect, according to Torrez.
Around 7 a.m. Tuesday, detectives obtained arrest and search warrants for Nguyen, who was found in a San Jose home with the help of a SWAT team, Torrez said.

Nguyen was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, according to Torrez.
The suspect and victim were acquaintances but police have not specified their relationship with one another, Torrez said.
