Hundreds hit the pavement this weekend for the first annual OC Jingle Bell Run/Walk to benefit the Arthritis Foundation.
Participants of all ages attended the first annual OC Jingle Bell Run/Walk on December 2nd, which was held at Crown Valley Community park in Laguna Niguel to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. The Crazy Hair Company was on hand to provide fun and festive hairstyling for the event.
The Run/Walk included three events: a timed 5K for runners, a non-competitive 5k for runners and walkers, and the “Rudolph Ramble,” a 1K Fun Run for children. Along the route, there were holiday carolers, games, costume contests, a sledding hill with snow, Sno-cones, milk and cookies, and a Mistletoe Bridge. The Kids Zone was open throughout the event where kids could party and get their crazy hair makeovers.
Holiday-themed hair, colorful mohawks and animal print stenciling were the most popular styles of the day. After the kids got their hair done, they took lots of pictures, made ginger bread houses and went sledding on the snow. Miss California Junior Teen Page Halbert from Mission Viejo and Miss California Teen Denise Jenkins from San Diego were there to support the Jungle Bell Run/Walk and showed off their crazy Christmas do’s.
Joy Brandel, owner of the Crazy Hair Company said, "The Jingle Bell Run was great! We love making new hair art to go along with themed events like this. We always make it special for the kids! And over $70,000 was raised for the Arthritis Foundation."
