Art and music will prevail at the 80s themed, Arts Alive Festival that takes place on Sat., May 2 from Noon to 8 pm and Sun., May 3, 2015 from Noon to 5 pm on the Village Green in front of the Norman P Murray Community & Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, 92691. New to the event is the Mission Viejo Food and Wine Festival.
The two-day event attracts street artists who chalk paintings on the pavement. It is an arduous art form that requires artists to sit, kneel, crouch, lay and bend with patience and hours of stamina while creating masterpieces.
This year, art teacher and chalkaholic, Maribeth McFaul and 25 of her students at Newhart Middle School will participate with more than 150 chalk artists to transform the pavement into a paradise of art.
