Bomb Threat At Cypress Point A Hoax: Cops
Mission Viejo police services responded to a bomb threat Tuesday night at Alicia Parkway and Cypress Point.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — Residents of the Cypress Point community were set on alert Tuesday night after a caller told Orange County Sheriff's Department Dispatch that he had placed "several bombs" at specific locations inside the gated community.
A large contingent of Orange County's finest reported to the scene while the residents were told to shelter in place, OCSD Mission Viejo police services Lt. Quyen Vuong told Patch.
OCSD Bomb Squad, six bomb detection K9 officers, crisis negotiators, OCFA Haz-Mat teams and air support units were called to Alicia Parkway and the Cypress Point community, where they determined the call was a hoax.

The Aliso Viejo bombing incident remains fresh in mind for all of Orange County, according to Vuong, but all calls are "taken seriously" and responded to with the full weight of OCSD's arsenal of tools.
Still, there are clues as to the caller's identity and consequences for those who falsely report incidents to the cops.

Mission Viejo Police Services, in cooperation with the OCSD and FBI are researching to find the caller, Vuong said. The investigation into finding hoaxers is taken just as seriously as responding to incidents. "Restitution will be made," he said.
