Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies Biography of Cancer is a Pulitzer Prize winning book written by Siddhartha Mukherjee, an Indian-born, American oncologist. Dr. Mukherjee brilliantly uses his experiences and research intertwined with the history of cancer to tell us the story beginning in 440 B.C.
Time magazine describes the book as one of the “100 most influential books of the last 100 years” and the New York Times magazine describes it as the 100 best works of non-fiction.
Ken Burns, executive producer and co-writer with Laura Ziskins, Hollywood producer who died of breast cancer in 2011, document The Emperor of All Maladies in a three-part, six-hour film being aired on PBS.
