Celebrate National Night Out 2023 In Mission Viejo: What To Know
The OC Sheriff's Department will join law enforcement across the nation in the event to promote strong police-community partnerships.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — To continue to promote community trust and transparency in local law enforcement, the Orange County Sheriff's Department will host its National Night Out for 2023 on Aug 1.
Mission Viejo residents are invited to attend the annual community-building campaign at Pavion Park, where participating residents will enjoy fun activities for all ages including: face painting, games, safety demonstrations and live entertainment.
Over 38 million neighbors across 17,000 communities from all 50 states, US territories and military bases will come together to participate in similar events. The goal for National Night Out is to promote strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, law enforcement said.

Most communities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other community events. Often, organizers will offer safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits for people to experience.
“This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen,” National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin said.

The City of Mission Viejo's National Night Out takes place Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pavion Park, 24051 Pavion.
