City Gears Up For Annual ‘Walk Against Drugs’ With Special Speaker

This year's keynote speaker for the event is singer-songwriter Karly Moreno from NBC's "The Voice," organizers say.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo residents were urged to join in on the 35th Annual Walk Against Drugs on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The event will kick-off with a rally at Mission Viejo High School, where singer-songwriter Karly Moreno from NBC’s “The Voice” will serve as the keynote speaker.

After the rally, attendees will walk together up La Paz Road through the Oso Creek Trail and end at the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park.

The event will close out with a Community Fair and South County Disaster Preparedness Expo, which takes place from 9 a.m. to noon. The expo will feature a meet-and-greet with Karly Moreno, Sheriff’s Department displays, Orange County Fire Authority displays, interactive community booths, educational activities, food for purchase, entertainment, and games for all ages.
