City Of Mission Viejo: Nighttime Closure Of Avery Under I-5 Bridge Planned For December 20-23

The I-5 northbound Avery Parkway off-ramp will be closed and southbound off-ramp reduced to one lane December 20-23 to accommodate partial demolition of the I-5 bridge over Avery.

The demolition of the median portion of that bridge requires the closure of the street below the freeway each night from 10 pm until 5 am, according to the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). If necessary, the same closures could be in effect December 27-30. 

The nighttime full closure is required to allow crews to safely perform work on the bridge as part of the freeway widening project.
