As we close the year we look back on what we accomplished but only to reset our sights on what we need to do in 2014...the job market is not going to be any easier...do not believe all the sound bites you hear.
We finished this year with helping 141 members land jobs and since we started up almost three years ago in River Edge Library on January 27th 2011 we have helped 360 members land jobs, an amazing number when you realize we only had RIver Edge program for our first 6 months before opening up in Cresskill. We now have 24 weekly programs and are in Boston and Washingtom DC. In addition to them members who land we provide motivation and support for all those who are still struggling with this very difficult job marke.
Our organization is nationally recognized and respected.
I have been invited to meet with Labor Secretary Perez and to bring a few other NhN leaders to help give input into this long term unemployment issue.
I have been advocating to educate both our leaders and the media to the truth of the real numbers of unemployed and a have created a page on our site that pulls together a lot of this information.
