The past year, I wrote with concerns on the lack of lighting at Norman P Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo. A group attended City Council and voiced their concerns.
The City listened and starting on Mon., Jan. 20, 2014 work will begin to add more lighting at the Center.
The residents of Mission Viejo and citizens of surrounding communities requested the installation of additional lights at the center in order promote safety and to deter criminal activities for everyone who attends events, activities and functions at the Center.

From dusk to dawn the area around the sidewalks and street are busy Public safety is a primary issue.
Even with a full moon the visibility is very poor and without a moon it is pitch black. For older adults, dog walkers, children, persons with disabilities, it is a challenge.
