Missing Mission Viejo Man, 85, Found Unharmed

A retired Marine feared missing since Sunday returned home unharmed Saturday.

A missing 85-year-old Mission Viejo man has returned home on his own, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported today.

David Coleman Moog, a retired U.S. Marine, last spoke with his family about 11:45 a.m. Sunday when he called them to say he planned to stay at home for the rest of the day.

When family members could not reach him again the rest of the day they went to his home to check on him, but he and his car were gone and no one was been able to contact him, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The sheriff’s department reported about 6:20 p.m. today that Moog had returned home on his own and was safe and uninjured.
