South Orange County Cheerleading Squad Rallies To Support Teen In Need
The cheer career of one spectacular Mission Viejo teen was put on hold after a devastating diagnosis of an aggressive form of Leukemia.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo High School senior Harley Henricks started cheerleading when she was four years old, and in the 13 years following has since brought cheer, hope and enthusiasm into the lives of many.
Her dedication and resilience manifested itself as she earned herself a position on the Mission Viejo High School's varsity cheer team. She's also cheered for the two-time World Champion South Coast Cheer team, according to GoFundMe.
However, Harley's cheer career had to be placed on hold following a diagnosis of an aggressive form of Leukemia.

"Harley and her parents are embarking on a difficult 8-month treatment journey. This journey is going to be a long one that will require her parents by her side," Lisa Palazzola-Langrell wrote on GoFundMe. "Aside from the emotional toll of watching their child fight cancer, there will be a significant financial burden as well. No parent should have to worry about finances while helping their child through the fight of their life."
In order to offset the financial costs of Harley's diagnosis and treatment, Harley's cheer family stepped up and rallied to raise more than $19,000 on GoFundMe, all of which will go straight to Harley's family.

"Harley has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL)," Palozzola-Langrell said. "This is a fast-moving form of cancer but can be highly treatable in young people with aggressive treatment."
