Mission Viejo Nadadores to Host Fundraiser.
TYR Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions June 24-28, 2015 at the center.
The Mission Viejo Nadadores will kickoff a fundraiser that consists of a standing cocktail party, refreshments and nonalcoholic beverages on Thursday, June 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Marguerite Aquatic Center at 27474 Casta Del Sol, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. There is no charge for the event, but donations are encouraged.
In addition, elite swimmers from around the world will descend upon Mission Viejo to compete in the annual, TYR Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions June 24-28, 2015 at the center. Preliminaries begin at 9 am and finals are at 5 pm each day.
The Nadadores are committed to help raise more than a million dollars to fund renovations for the facility, pools and diving tower.

The Mission Viejo Nadadores team was formed in 1968 and was comprised of 25 swimmers. Currently they are 800 members strong and they strive to compete on all levels of competition through their pursuit of teamwork, excellence, sportsmanship, discipline and integrity.
They are one of the largest swimming and diving clubs in the United States.

They have trained at the same pools, at the same location from the beginning with the Mission Viejo Company. In 1992 the Mission Viejo Nadadores Foundation took over and has overseen the swimming and diving teams. Through the foundation, volunteers and parents dedicate hundreds of hours on a monthly basis.
In 1974, the Nadadores women won their first National Championship title. The Nadadores have had athletes at every Olympics since 1976. They even hold the record (47) for the most team titles at the USA Swimming Nationals.
Other awards include 148 individual National Championships, 5 Individual World Championship titles, 12 Olympic Gold Medals, seven Olympic Silver Medals and one Olympic Bronze. They have broken 91 American Records, 22 World Records and have produced more than 135 All-American athletes.
Nadadores Alumni include Greg Louganis, Shirley Babashoff, Brian Goodell, Chloe Sutton, Dara Torres, Larsen Jensen and Tiffany Cohen. Currently the Nadadores are led by American Swimming Coaches Association Hall of Fame member, Coach Bill Rose. The divers are led by Olympian, Coach Janet Ely.
