Multiple Power Outages Reported Throughout O.C., Including Mission Viejo

Southern California Edison says the cause was extreme heat.

Hundreds of Southern California Edison customers were without power in Orange County, caused by extreme heat and in most cases officials were estimating power would be restored within 24 hours.

The outages reportedly began Sunday afternoon and evening in Newport Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo and other parts of Orange County. Multiple outages are also scattered around Los Angeles County.

Most listings on Edison’s outage map at sce.com indicated the cause was extreme heat, that “we are assessing damages,” and that power would be restored within 24 hours.
