Oscar-nominated 'Life of Pi' is September's Film of Character

Free movie Sept. 20 highlights "responsibility."

The public is invited to a free screening of the visually stunning film ‘Life of Pi” on Sunday, September 20 at Mission Viejo City Hall.

The PG-rated film, which airs at 2 p.m., was selected to highlight Mission Viejo’s September character trait of “responsibility.”

Described by the Los Angeles Times as a “visual masterpiece,” the film recounts the tale of a young man who struggles to survive a shipwreck in the company of a Bengal tiger. The film received more Oscar nominations than any other film in 2012 (including Best Picture) and garnered a Best Director award for universally acclaimed director Ang Lee.
