Photos: Patrick Carney Paints to End ALS

Also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS is the target of artist Patrick Carney. His art was featured Saturday in Mission Viejo, and proceeds will benefit the ALS Association.

Saturday evening paintings and drawings were sold to fight ALS at the Norman P. Murray Community Center in Mission Viejo.

According to his website, artist Patrick Carney has enjoyed a lifelong interest in drawing and painting. When he was diagnosed in 1990 with ALS, he left his family therapy practice of 25 years to commit himself to art full time.

This was Carney's fourth show to benefit the ALS Association. The event included a live auction, silent auction, reception, and presentation.
