Serial Bank Robber 'Snowbird Bandit' Strikes Again

A suspect dubbed the Snowbird Bandit was believed to have held up a U.S. Bank branch in Ladera Ranch this afternoon.

The holdup occurred about 3:10 p.m. at the branch at 111 Corporate Drive, Suite 100, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The suspect handed a teller a note and brandished what is believed to be the butt of a black handgun in his waistband, Hallock said.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 60s who is about 5-foot- 11 and weighs about 240 pounds. He had a white mustache and was carrying a straw fedora hat. He was wearing a white, button-down shirt with U.S. flags on it.

The Snowbird Bandit is also suspected of robbing the Cal Bank and Trust branch at 24034 Camino Del Avion in Monarch Beach on March 20, the First Citizens branch at 29818 Santa Margarita Parkway in Rancho Santa Margarita on May 22 and the Wells Fargo branch at 24471 Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo on June 11.
