Truck Flips In Mission Viejo Crash

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A truck flipped onto its side Thursday after crashing off a major thoroughfare in Mission Viejo, snarling traffic in the area for hours, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reports.

The wreck was reported just after 12:30 p.m. in the area of Oso Parkway and Marketplace — just east of Marguerite Parkway.

The white Ford work truck crashed with a Nissan and landed on the driver's side, according to sheriff's officials. Images from the scene showed it lying on the sidewalk; the windshield shattered and caution tape all around.

At least one person was hurt, and Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were called to help.

Police asked motorists to avoid the area during the investigation.
