Two Firefighters Hurt in Three-Alarm House Fire

A fast moving fire spread to two houses. One firefighter sustained burns to the hand and another suffered heat exhaustion.

Two firefighters were injured today while battling a three-alarm residential blaze in Laguna Hills.

The fire that spread to two homes was reported about 11:30 a.m. in the 22600 block of Napoli Lane, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.

One of about 70 firefighters sent to the scene sustained second-degree burns to a hand, and another suffered heat exhaustion, Concialdi said.

“The fire was so hot he was burned through his gloves,” the captain said, adding that one of the homes was “heavily damaged.”

There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
