Woman Rescued After Falling Into Creek In South Orange County

Orange County emergency responders rescued a young woman who was found hanging onto a tree in a creek with rapidly moving water.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA — A young woman was rescued by Orange County emergency responders after she was found hanging onto a tree in a creek with fast-moving water in Laguna Hills Saturday, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

The call was reported at 3:28 p.m. Saturday near the 24400 block of Christina Ct. in Laguna Hills. Orange County Fire Authority crews set up the rescue from the ground before calling in a helicopter to airlift the victim.

The victim, who was identified as a young woman, was rescued by the OCFA's helicopter rescuer and ultimately returned to the ground, where she was reunited with her family.

It was not immediately clear how she fell into the creek, nor was it clear how long she had been trapped in the fast-moving water.

"As the weather continues to fill up waterways, we strongly urge everyone to stay away from the water," the OCFA said in a statement.
