The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Is Hosting Games.

WWAST and Kids Camp will play Two Games at the Baseball Stadium at Saddleback College tonight.

This week the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team has been holding a kids camp at the Marty Russo Athletic Park for 20, 8-12 year olds from all around the country who have amputations or missing limbs.

The WWAST plays all over the country and is comprised of 24 players from all over the United States. They are veterans and active duty soldiers whose injuries have resulted in amputations while in the military. Their motto is “Life without a Limb is Limitless.” They have had various amputations of the arm, hand, foot, bilateral below knee and above the knee.

The week ends on Friday, June 12, 2015 with a few exhibition games with the kids, Warriors, first responders, former professional baseball players and athletes at the Saddleback College baseball stadium, 28000 Marguerite Parkway.

The WWAST Kids Camp will culminate with a doubleheader softball event. The public is invited to cheer on these amazing athletes as they inspire a community with their strength and perseverance.

The opening ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. The first game is at 6:45 p.m. with two teams of 10 amputee children competing in softball. Game two begins around 8:15 p.m. and will feature the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team facing off with Orange County first responders, former pro athletes and members of the community.
