Azusa Woman One Of 2 Killed In Covina Shooting Sunday

When officers entered the home, they found two women dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

COVINA, CA -- One of the two women killed when a 2-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting in Covina was publicly identified Tuesday.

She was Nicole Biewener, 23, of Azusa, according to coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz.

The shooting was reported at 12:06 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of South Rancho Sinaloa Drive, police said. Resident Lucas Fick told a neighbor something bad had happened and asked them to call police.

When officers entered the home, they found two women dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. The toddler was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to his back and was expected to recover.

Fick was arrested at the scene for being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said. He was on parole for being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Fick was being held on a parole hold without bail at the Covina jail, according to sheriff's inmate records. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
