Patch Blog: Does Free Food And Booze Get Your Attention?

The Monrovia Association of Fine Art with artists Rick Kess and Doug Gordon will offer just that (free food and booze) on Saturday night at .  This event is free and open to the public.  It is MAFA's way of giving back a little more fun to the community while showcasing some great art at the same time.  

Rick Kess is a Monrovian that has been involved with MAFA the last several years.  You might remember him for the Art Bear he did for the city that debuted at the in May.  What most may not know is that he is an incredible artist that has done some amazing work.  His painting style is illustrative in nature and all tell a story of sorts.  Look closely at the sides of the canvas and you will find all sorts of fun witticisms that relate to the painting.  His "Mystery, Martini's and Amore'" being show cased right now is my favorite though his tiki stuff is fun too.

Doug Gordon is a MAFA member that is most known for his large format panoramic landscape photographs.  He has several of Monrovia proper as well as many others documenting the southern portion of California.  Doug serves on the MAFA board and is our web master who strives to keep the MAFA web current and running.

Both artists will love to talk with you about their art and sell you a piece while they are at it.
