Kudos to the Monrovia Fire and Police Departments

Praise for the Monrovia Fire and Police Departments.

This is not something I normally would write about, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

Saturday night at approximately 10:45 p.m., my hubby and I were chilling at our neighbor's backyard paradise and just enjoying the peaceful ambience and wine and music. All of a sudden we hear this awful sound. I immediately thought of gun shots. The rest of us thought it may have been an accident. Our neighbor, Martin, decided to look around to see what that noise was. He found nothing and sat back down.

Well in less than a minute we hear sirens. Martin's sister, Ana, thought those sirens might be for what just happened. We all said no because that was way too soon. Well lo and behold the sirens stopped where we heard the noise and so being the nosey person I am (some say nosey, I say I just want to know everything), we ran out of Martin's front door and walked towards and saw the flashing of red and blue in the dark and turned the corner where the little market is, and we saw what appeared to be a blue Honda Accord flipped over completely.  We saw the person moving his arms in the car.

Kudos to the Monrovia Fire Department and the Monrovia Police Department for getting there immediately and springing into action. I saw one of the firemen, crawling into the vehicle and helping the poor soul in that car.  It all happened so fast. The accident victim was immediately put on a gurney and put into an ambulance.

My point of this story is twofold. We should say thank you for these brave souls who chose this profession to help others, but also say thank you to people and compliment people who do nice things. We live in a world of customer service and people all over -and I'm guilty of this myself - COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, AND COMPLAIN. Do these customer service people ever get a compliment whenever they have actually been nice and helpful? One of the things I've learned from my own kids who work in restaurants, is to say something nice when someone in the service industry has helped you or gone out of their way to make your customer service pleasurable.

So I say thank you Monrovia Police Department and thank you Monrovia Fire Department for doing a great job in keeping us safe.
