Rotary District 5300 Accepting Applications for Group Study Exchange Program

Business professionals between the ages of 23-40 are encouraged to apply for a sponsored Group Study Exchange to Northern Chile.

The Rotary Club of Monrovia is part of a larger district of Rotary Clubs in the Southern California region (District 5300).  One of the amazing programs that Rotary International offers to the community is called Group Study Exchange (GSE) and applications are now being accepted for this fantastic program.  The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers.  The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.

In 2010, the Rotary Club of Monrovia sponsored Clarissa Cassara, an account manager for a local private insurance company, to go to Brazil .  View the blog written by the GSE Brazil team members to see what a great time they had.

This coming year, District 5300 will be sponsoring four team members to travel for approximately four weeks to Northern Chile in May of 2012.  The team member must be in the age range of 23-40 at the time of travel and must have worked in their vocation for at least 2 years in a management position.   The team members may NOT be a member of Rotary!  Team members will have the opportunity to visit people and tour businesses in the same vocation as their own.
