Brothers Arrested After Fleeing Scene of Burglary Near Monrovia

Police arrested the pair after neighbors saw two men fleeing the scene of a home that was burglarized.

ARCADIA, CA -- Two brothers were in custody Friday after fleeing the scene of a burglary in Arcadia, police said.

Officers responded to a report of an audible alarm sounding in the 1600 block of Elevado Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. They located the source of the alarm and discovered the residence had been burglarized, said Sgt. K. Pedersen of the Arcadia Police Department.

As the incident was being investigated, numerous neighbors reported seeing two men running through the yards of several residences, he said.

A perimeter was established and the two suspects were arrested.

Jayshawn McKnight of Los Angeles, 27, and Javon McKnight, 30, a transient, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, Pedersen said.

They are being held on $50,000 bail each, Pedersen said.
