El Monte High School Wrestling Coach Charged for Allegedly Having Sex with 3 Students

POMONA, CA -- A part-time wrestling coach at Arroyo High School in El Monte was charged Friday with 20 felonies for allegedly having sexual relationships with three female students during an 18-month span.

David Vaca Jr., 21, was arrested Wednesday. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday afternoon in Pomona and was scheduled to return to court Feb. 21.

According to prosecutors, Vaca had sexual relationships with the three students during separate stretches between June 1, 2005, and Jan. 28 of this year.

He was charged with seven counts of oral copulation of a person under 18, six counts of sexual penetration by foreign object, six counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and one count of sodomy of a person under 16.

El Monte police said the crimes were committed at various locations in El Monte and South El Monte. Police also said they believed there may be additional victims. They asked anyone with information to contact them at (626) 580-2114. Information may also be submitted via email at tips@empd.org.
