• Dignity Health's Annual Free Trunk-Or-Treat Returns To Monrovia Oct. 29 (patch.com) — Families in Monrovia can look forward to a free Trunk-or-Treat celebration at Live Oak Memorial Park on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. Hosted by Dignity Memorial, the event invites costumed children to trick-or-treat from decorated car trunks and enjoy candy in a safe, family-friendly setting. 
• Bride-to-be gets free wedding dress after woman interrupted her proposal with racist outburst (cbsnews.com) — A Monrovia bridal shop, Saint Clark Bridal Suite, stepped in to gift bride-to-be Hayley Lugo a free wedding dress after her Laguna Beach proposal was marred by a stranger's racist outburst. The owner says she wanted to show that Monrovia and the wider community still have kindness at their core, and Lugo says the gesture has helped her focus on celebrating her engagement.
• La Cañada football breaks through late to shut out Muir (dailynews.com) — Local football fans will want to note that Muir now faces a must-win matchup against Monrovia next week to keep its CIF-Southern Section playoff hopes alive. La Cañada's 7-0 win over Muir puts the Spartans in control of the Arroyo League race, while Monrovia, coming off a loss to Burbank, also needs a victory to stay in contention.
