Receiving Stolen Property - Suspect Arrested

On March 11 at 1:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 3300 block of Peck Road regarding a theft investigation.  When the officer arrived, store security guards had a subject detained near the intersection of Live Oak and Peck.  Apparently, the suspect was in the process of taking a vehicle filter box and was interrupted by security.  The suspect tossed the property and fled. Officers located physical evidence that linked the suspect to the scene.  After a search of the surrounding area, they also located the stolen property which had the suspect's bicycle tire tread on it, as well.  It appears that the suspect ran over the property with his bicycle as he was trying to get away from the security guards.  The stolen property was recovered and returned.  The suspect was arrested.
