Police Now Investigating Alleged Hit and Run
A police officer interviewed Sharry Ductor Wednesday after Patch reported on the local bicyclist's injuries up at Canyon Park.

Police launched an investigation into an alleged hit and run Wednesday after a woman who suffered serious injuries while biking in Canyon Park .
Sharry Ductor was found unconscious near the ranger station on Sept. 4 and rushed to a hospital, where she remained in a coma for more than a day. She suffered a punctured lung, six broken ribs, a broken shoulder and broken collarbone.
Ductor did not remember anything about what happened to her, but doctors told her that the seriousness of her injuries suggested she had been hit by a car. Her husband, David Ductor, made two attempts to have police look into the incident, but a report was never filed.

The officer came to the Ductor's home and spent about two hours speaking to Sharry, David said. He photographed her injuries and photographed her bicycle, which sustained minor damage to its rear tire, David said.
Ductor said the officer got ahold of two 911 calls made after his wife was found in the middle of the road leading away from Canyon Park. One of the calls was placed by rangers, but an earlier call was made by a phone that has now been disconnected, Ductor said.
A message left with the officer investigating the incident was not immediately returned.
Ductor said he was glad that someone was finally taking an interest in his wife's injuries.
"I certainly feel better, as I was really able to get myself into a frenzy over this," he wrote in an email. "And having someone "official-like" take an interest in her accident has already gone a long way toward Sharry's emotional health."
Patch is trying to get a comment from the and will update the story as needed.
